Welcome to Yoobyoo
Yoobyoo(pronounced “You Be You!”) is the new unique and intriguing name for Children in Hospital Ireland.
It is derived from a distillation of thousands of words and phrases about the organisation. It encapsulates the essence of our philosophy and the work of our strong and committed, trained and vetted volunteer force throughout the country who daily “encourage and allow children in hospitals to be themselves and not just patients”.
Our new tagline is “Happier children in Ireland’s hospitals” affirming our commitment to pursuing this aim.
It is our expectation that the new name will make the organisation more recognisable as Ireland’s leading sick children’s charity tackling the complex issues that affect sick, particularly hospitalised, children and their families.
The organisation supports all sick children regardless of their condition or illness and works to ensure their psychosocial needs – especially for emotional security – are met within all healthcare settings.
"My two-year-old daughter had an appointment in Outpatients yesterday. I had been dreading it as I remember her appointment last year and what a nightmare it was trying to keep her amused for several hours in the waiting room. Yesterday, however, was a different story. There were two lovely ladies (Yoobyoo volunteers) there organising activities. It was really great and made such a difference to us - it is a fantastic service and must be brilliant for parents who have to visit the hospital regularly." Helena from Dublin
